School Grant Opportunities

The Collision Repair Education Foundation offers different grant opportunities throughout the year for collision schools. As new opportunities arise, details will be emailed directly to the collision repair instructors and school administration. We encourage you to respond as soon as possible to these offers, as many times the product/donation is only available in a limited quantity.

If you are the collision instructor at a school and have not been receiving the information from the Education Foundation, please email info@ed-foundation.org.

Collision Repair School Solutions Survey

All secondary and post-secondary technical schools and colleges that have a collision repair program are invited to complete a “Collision Repair School Solutions” survey. The Education Foundation will use the results to track general program information, key academic performance indicators, and program needs for new tool and equipment to train the students.

As an incentive to complete the survey, a collision school will receive free electronic subscriptions and software licenses to information provider systems, estimating programs, shop management tools, and repair manuals from Mitchell, CCC Information Services, and Audatex. In addition, SCRS is offering free membership for those schools that complete the survey.

Schools will be required to retake the survey on an annual basis in order to renew their subscription to the software and any other memberships.

In-Kind Product Donations

The Education Foundation has received a number of in-kind product donations in 2010 that were distributed to schools that responded to a survey. Donations such as the body filler Dynamic Mixing System and rolls of masking tape from 3M, cases of various products from Bar’s Products, and subscriptions to CollisionWeek help to support collision education.

Ultimate Collision Education Makeover Grant

The “Ultimate Collision Education Makeover” grant debuted in 2009 when Steel Center Area Vocational Technical School (Jefferson Hills, PA) was chosen as the recipient of the award. In 2010, the award went to Bridgerland Applied Technology College (Logan, UT).

Our goal with the “Ultimate Collision Education Makeover” grant is to honor a school that has been doing an outstanding job in educating students in collision repair, but needs some financial assistance to improve their program’s teaching materials and equipment. With strained school budgets, we are honored to have the opportunity to bridge the program’s financial gap and to make a difference in the lives of the students studying collision repair.

Products/Grants Available to Ultimate Collision Education Makeover Applicants

Many of the Collision Repair Education Foundation school grants are tied directly to the Ultimate Collision Education Makeover grant program. As a part of the application for the grant, each school is required to submit a list of what they would want to receive for $50,000. The winning school gets their request list fulfilled. For all other schools that apply, the Foundation tries to match donated items with the request list of schools. As a result, Ultimate Collision Education Makeover grant applicants will usually be the first schools to receive grants and product donations.
