3M “Hire Our Heroes” Scholarships and Tool Grants for Returning Veterans and their Families
3M is offering special opportunities for deserving collision repair students that are currently serving or have recently served in the military. Special awards will also be available for current collision repair students that have immediate family members who are currently serving or have recently served in the military.

ELIGIBILITY: Applicant must meet one of the following requirements:

  • A post-secondary student who is studying collision repair and is currently serving or has recently served in the military.
  • A high school senior or a post-secondary student who is studying collision repair and has an immediate family member currently serving or has served in the military.

AWARD: Awards will be determined by financial need, future plans, and past academic achievements of the student.


AASP-MA Tool Grant

AASP-MA is offering tool kits to deserving collision repair students in Massachusetts.

ELIGIBILITY: Applicant must be a high school senior or a post-secondary student who is studying collision repair in the state of Massachusetts.

AWARD: 10 $1,000 (retail) tool kits will be awarded. The kits include the following items from Mac Tools:

  • Flex head cut-off tool (whizzer)
  • 4 piece locking plier set
  • 44 pc deluxe socket set 1/” drive
  • 25pc torx/torx plus drivers set
  • Welding gloves
  • Welder’s goggles w/flipup lens
  • Windshield locking strip tool

ABRA Auto Body & Glass Tool Grant

The ABRA Auto Body & Glass Tool Grant will provide collision students with the funding needed to continue and enhance their education in collision repair. For the winning students, this scholarship will go towards purchasing tools from the NATEF tool list.

ELIGIBILITY: Applicant must be a high school senior or post-secondary student from select collision repair programs that plan on graduating school in 2014 and entering the workforce immediately following graduation.

AWARD: 8 tool scholarships will be awarded in the amount of $2,000 (retail) each.


Atlanta I-CAR Committee Scholarship

The Atlanta I-CAR Committee has created a fund to support student scholarships. This scholarship will cover tuition, lab fees, and other fees as well as required books, safety equipment, and tools for students taking at least one collision repair course each semester.

ELIGIBILITY: Applicant must be a Georgia high school senior who plan to continue his/her education in collision repair after graduation at a post-secondary school in Georgia.

AWARD: 1-2 awards will be given; the award includes up to a $5,000 scholarship to be used towards post-secondary education, specifically for direct educational expenses such as tuition payment, room and board, and fees, or indirect educational expenses such as required books, required tools, required safety equipment, and required supplies while taking at least one collision repair course.


Board of Trustees Scholarship

The Collision Repair Education Foundation Board of Trustees has created a fund to support student scholarships. This scholarship will cover tuition, lab fees, and other fees as well as required books, safety equipment, and tools for students taking at least one collision repair course each semester.

ELIGIBILITY: Applicant must be a high school senior who plan to continue his/her education in collision repair after graduation or a post-secondary student who will use the monies for post-secondary education in collision repair.

AWARD: Two scholarships will be awarded in the amount of $2,000 each.


Caliber Collision Centers

Caliber Collision Centers is offering a scholarship/tool grant for collision students. The applying students must interview at a local Caliber location and if selected for the award, must be hired or serve an internship at a Caliber location.

If selected for this award, you will need to complete one of the following steps to receive your award:

  • Serve as an intern/apprentice at the Caliber facility for a minimum of 40 hours
  • Be hired as a part-time/full-time employee of Caliber

ELIGIBILITY: Applicant must be a post-secondary student that is currently enrolled in a collision program and lives/goes to school near a Caliber location.

AWARD: 4 awards of $2,500 will be given out.


CCC Michael Salvatore Memorial Student Repair Technician Scholarship

CCC Information Services has donated funds to support the CCC Michael Salvatore Memorial Student Repair Technician Scholarship, honoring longtime CCC team member Michael Salvatore. This scholarship rewards students that complete their education and find employment in the collision industry.

ELIGIBILITY:

  • Applicant’s school must be currently utilizing the CCC Estimating Systems
  • Applicant must be a post-secondary student who will use the monies for post-secondary education in collision repair.

AWARD: One scholarship of $5,000 will be awarded; three runners-up scholarships of $2,000 will be awarded.


Chicago Pneumatic Tool Grant

Chicago Pneumatic is offering kits of hand tools to deserving collision repair students through a nationwide student grant.

ELIGIBILITY: Applicant must be a high school senior or a post-secondary student who is studying collision repair. The applicant must demonstrate financial need for this grant.

AWARD: 10 tool packages will be awarded.


GEICO Scholarship and Tool Grant

GEICO Philanthropic Foundation is offering the GEICO Scholarship and Tool Grant Program, which will benefit students studying collision repair in New York; Washington, DC; Florida; and California. The selected students will each receive $1,500 for educational expenses and to purchase tools from the NATEF Tool List.

ELIGIBILITY: Applicant must be a high school senior who plan to continue his/her education in collision repair after graduation or a post-secondary student that is currently enrolled in a collision program.

AWARD: Four scholarships in the amount of $1,500 each will be awarded.


I-CAR Northwest Region Scholarship

The I-CAR Northwest Region has created a fund to support student scholarships. This scholarship will cover tuition, lab fees, and other fees as well as required books, safety equipment, and tools for students taking at least one collision repair course each semester. Students from the state of Washington will be eligible, with priority going to students in the Washington Puget Sound area.

ELIGIBILITY: Applicant must be a high school senior who plan to continue his/her education in collision repair after graduation or a post-secondary student that is currently enrolled in a collision program.

AWARD: Two scholarships in the amount of $1,000 each will be awarded.


Ingersoll Rand Tool Grant

Ingersoll Rand is offering cordless drill kits for 20 collision repair students nationwide.

ELIGIBILITY: Applicant must be a high school senior or a post-secondary student who is studying collision repair. The applicant must demonstrate financial need for this grant.

AWARD: 20 drill kits will be awarded.


The Lon Baudoux Legacy Scholarship

The Lon Baudoux Legacy Scholarship was created in memory of I-CAR Development Manager, Lon Baudoux, who passed away on November 11, 2008. He highly valued education, especially for secondary and post-secondary students studying collision repair.

ELIGIBILITY:

  • Applicant must be a high school senior who plans to continue his/her education in collision repair after graduation or a post-secondary student who will use the monies for post-secondary education in collision repair.
  • Applicant must be actively involved in activities outside of school. These activities may include but are not limited to:

    • Volunteering in their community (for collision and non-collision activities)
    • Serving an unpaid apprenticeship or job shadowing program
    • Participating in school clubs and the club’s activities (for collision and non-collision clubs)
  • AWARD: Three scholarships will be awarded in the amount of $1,000 each.


    PPG Scholarship

    PPG has donated $20,000 offer student scholarships to help with tuition and other costs associated with their technical education.

    ELIGIBILITY: Applicant must be a post-secondary student studying collision repair

    AWARD: Four scholarships of $5,000 each will be awarded.


    Robert Author Smith Memorial Scholarship

    The Robert Author Smith Memorial Scholarship is presented by the Wisconsin I-CAR Committee in memory of Robert Smith.

    ELIGIBILITY: Applicant must be a high school senior in Wisconsin who plans to continue his/her education in collision repair after graduation or a post-secondary student who will use the monies for post-secondary education in collision repair at Fox Valley Technical College. Applicant must be actively involved and participating in SkillsUSA.

    AWARD: Two high school scholarships will be awarded in the amount of $1,000 each and two Fox Valley Technical College student scholarships will be awarded in the amount of $1,500 each.


    Service King Tool Chest Grant

    Service King Collision Repair Centers is offering a scholarship/tool grant for collision students. The applying students must interview at a local Service King location and if selected for the award, must be hired or serve an internship at a Service King location.

    If selected for this award, you will need to complete one of the following steps to receive your award:

    • Serve as an intern/apprentice at the Service King facility for a minimum of 40 hours
    • Be hired as a part-time/full-time employee of Service King

    ELIGIBILITY: Applicant must be a high school senior who plan to continue his/her education in collision repair after graduation or a post-secondary student that is currently enrolled in a collision program.

    AWARD: 5 awards of $2,500 will be given out.


    Van Tuyl Group Scholarship/Tool Grant

    Van Tuyl Group is offering a scholarship/tool grant for collision students at Eastfield College and Texas State Technical College (Waco, TX). The applying students must interview at a local Van Tuyl location and if selected for the award, must be hired or serve an internship at a Van Tuyl location.

    If selected for this award, you will need to complete one of the following steps to receive your award:

    • Serve as an intern/apprentice at the Van Tuyl facility for a minimum of 40 hours
    • Be hired as a part-time/full-time employee of Van Tuyl

    ELIGIBILITY: Applicant must be collision student at Eastfield College or Texas State Technical College (Waco, TX) and must interview at a Van Tuyl location. An additional essay is also required.

    AWARD: 5 awards of $4,000 will be given out which includes a $1,500 scholarship and a $2,000 Mac Tools package.


    Western Michigan Body Shop Association Scholarship/Tool Grant

    WMBA will be offering scholarships and tool grants to students from Kent Career Technical Center.

    ELIGIBILITY:

    AWARD: Up to 6 awards will be given out, including four $500 Mac Tools grants and two $1,000 college scholarships.
